Artisan breads, house-made pastries, and single-origin coffee — crafted daily at our Chelsea kitchen and served with the warmth only a girl-owned café can bring.
Cafe by the Girls started in a shared kitchen with a single starter culture and a stubborn belief that New York deserved better bread. What began as weekend pop-ups at local farmers' markets has grown into a neighborhood fixture on West 23rd Street.
Every morning at 3:30 AM, our bakers arrive to feed the starter, mix the dough, and shape each loaf by hand. We don't use commercial yeast, preservatives, or shortcuts. If it doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't leave our oven.
Today, we also curate a small selection of groceries — local honey, house-made preserves, fermented hot sauces, and pantry staples we'd actually use at home. Everything we sell, we'd serve our neighbors.

"The sourdough here is the reason I wake up on weekends. My neighbors think I've lost my mind, but they don't understand — this is not regular bread."
